JJ began his apprenticeship in 2008 at Voodoo Tattoo in Gosford, NSW. After completing his apprenticeship, he moved to England where he began developing his style at Tattoo Living Image. Living abroad in London gave him the opportunity to grow artistically and creatively which lead him to open his first studio called Rotary Heaven in Penge.
JJ left England four years ago with the intention of opening a studio in Australia in a partnership with Justin Smeeth and from this idea, Shinkō Tattoo in Brisbane, QLD opened it’s doors in 2014.
You can find JJ’s portfolio online and snippets of his pieces scattered throughout the Shinkō Tattoo instagram. He focuses primarily on traditional Japanese and Chinese artwork and tribal pattern work.
